#1. Sensex
Sensex is called Sensitive Index in Hindi language, in English language it is called Sensitive Index. It is an index benchmark of the Mumbai Stock Exchange. By this, the rise and fall of the share price is told. Mumbai Stock Exchange is also known as BSE Sensex. Information about the thirty topmost stocks in the BSE is obtained by the Sensex.
The Sensex was launched in India on January 1, 1986. Only thirty companies are included in the Sensex. All these companies keep changing according to the time. A committee has been constituted to select thirty companies in the Sensex. It is also known as BSE 30 because of thirty companies.
#2. Nifty
National Stock Exchange of India is located in Delhi. It was started in November 1994. Here fifty companies are selected from 12 different sectors of the country.
The stock market in India is controlled by the National Stock Exchange of India. The word Nifty is used only to denote the index here. Nifty is made up of two words. The word is National and Fifty. The term Nifty is used to denote the top 50 stocks in the National Stock Exchange. It is a benchmark, from which information about the volatility of stocks is obtained.

#3. Difference Between Sensex & Nifty
Both Sensex and Nifty are related to the stock market, but then there is some difference between them, it is as follows-
1. Sensitive Index of National Stock Exchange is Nifty and Sensitive Index of Mumbai Stock Exchange is Sensex
2. Information is provided about the top 50 companies in the National Stock Exchange whereas information is provided only about the top 30 companies in the Mumbai Stock Exchange
3.30 The actual valuation of the stock market can be done more by the top 50 companies than by the top companies
4. Both the indices are calculated from the base of the year, in the Sensex, the base year 1979 is taken. For the base year 1979 is taken as 100. The base of the year for Nifty is taken as 1000 for 1995. Shares are valued on these base years only.
